Andrei Crișan is assistant professor of Old English at the Faculty of Letters, Babeș-Bolyai University.
Andrei wrote a BA dissertation entitled “Conquering the Angelcynn: A Discussion of Anglo-Saxon Identity, Heroic Vocabulary and Germanic Ideals”, an MA thesis on Wulfstan’s Institutes of Polity, which he also translated into Romanian, and defended his PhD thesis on Cambridge, Corpus Christi College MS 201 in July 2026.
In 2020-2021, he attended the European Diploma of Medieval Studies (DEEM), organised in Rome by the Fédération Internationale des Instituts d’Études Médiévales (FIDEM).
Andrei was a member of the FRAGMED project, and is currently on the team of our new project (“Medieval Books in the Early Modern Period: The Case of Cluj in the Sixteenth and Seventeenth Centuries“, UEFISCDI PN-IV-P1-PCE-2023-0465).
