On 12-18 July 2026, CODEX hosted an international summer school in Cluj.
Eight tutors from Budapest, Cluj, Paris, Prague and Vienna, and sixteen students from Cambridge, Cluj, Dublin, Paris, Prague, and Vienna spent a week in Cluj and Alba Iulia studying medieval manuscripts and early modern printed books. There were courses on Greek Palaeography, provenance history and the history of the book, digital approaches to manuscript editing, traditional text editing, devotional manuscripts and early modern printed books etc. The students also presented their research.
The summer school was generously sponsored by the cluster of excellence “EurAsia: Eurasian Transformations“, Vienna, represented by Dr Pavlina Rychterová.
